Getting to Know My Florida Home

I'm stuck inside today while it is pouring rain.  Maggie's close at hand because she doesn't like the sound of the rain on the trailer.  After all, she didn't see much rain in Arizona.  Meanwhile, I'd thought I'd go ahead and show what we did over the weekend.  Most of the weekend was taken up with changing the oil in the truck and buying things for the trailer that we discovered we needed.  However, we did get to see a few things.
We started out with lunch at Panama Hattie's.  It is a wonderful seafood place on the water next to one of the area's many drawbridges.  Hubby said he could get a job as a valet if this nuclear power thing doesn't work out.
 (I don't think so!)
We ate outside on the patio so we could  watch the boats go by.

We started with the most delicious crab cake I have ever eaten.  It was accompanied by an out of this world mango salsa.
I had to try the grilled hogfish.  I had never even heard of that kind of fish before.  It was tender, flaky and almost buttery tasting.  Fresh vegetables, to die for homemade bread and an apple coleslaw rounded out  my wonderful lunch.
While we were there, the drawbridge went up to allow a
huge yacht to travel underneath.
After a trip to Walmart (there's always a Walmart!) we had time to walk across the street from our RV resort and visit the beach.

I plan to spend some time there once it stops raining.
It's a good thing I brought an umbrella!

I've never tried Hog Fish before. Had a chance to...but I think it's such an ugly fish...I can't imagine eating one! :-) I'm going to have to now...glad you enjoyed it!
