My Florida Home

This morning we're under a tornado watch and I'm in a trailer.  So wrong!  Anyway, I thought I'd give a little tour of my home here in Florida - while keeping an eye on the weather!
This is the sign greeting everyone coming into the park.

Here's the office where we check in and receive our mail.
We have all the comforts of home in our little trailer.
This is the living room.  No piano, but there are two recliners
and a fold out couch for overnight visitors.
One thing that was important to hubby was the entertainment center.
The efficient kitchen.
Our bedroom even has a king-sized bed.
The bathroom is conveniently located right by the bedroom!
There's room for company in the dining room.
Ceekay, from Thinkin' of Home, suggested I bring along a few tea things because you never know when you might want to invite someone over for tea!
I hope you enjoyed the tour of my Florida home.
Providing I don't blow away in the approaching storm, I'll be back
next week with pictures of the adventures from our 4 day weekend.

Getting to Know My Florida Home

I'm stuck inside today while it is pouring rain.  Maggie's close at hand because she doesn't like the sound of the rain on the trailer.  After all, she didn't see much rain in Arizona.  Meanwhile, I'd thought I'd go ahead and show what we did over the weekend.  Most of the weekend was taken up with changing the oil in the truck and buying things for the trailer that we discovered we needed.  However, we did get to see a few things.
We started out with lunch at Panama Hattie's.  It is a wonderful seafood place on the water next to one of the area's many drawbridges.  Hubby said he could get a job as a valet if this nuclear power thing doesn't work out.
 (I don't think so!)
We ate outside on the patio so we could  watch the boats go by.

We started with the most delicious crab cake I have ever eaten.  It was accompanied by an out of this world mango salsa.
I had to try the grilled hogfish.  I had never even heard of that kind of fish before.  It was tender, flaky and almost buttery tasting.  Fresh vegetables, to die for homemade bread and an apple coleslaw rounded out  my wonderful lunch.
While we were there, the drawbridge went up to allow a
huge yacht to travel underneath.
After a trip to Walmart (there's always a Walmart!) we had time to walk across the street from our RV resort and visit the beach.

I plan to spend some time there once it stops raining.
It's a good thing I brought an umbrella!

My Arizona Home

This weekend, hubby and I will be out exploring our new Florida home area so next week I'll post pictures of what we did.  Today, I'd thought I'd post a few pictures of my home in Arizona.  I'll post more at a later date.
Our daughters and son-in-laws are doing a good job looking after the place.
Maggie usually greets people in the foyer.

One thing I really miss, and can't have in the 5th wheel, is my piano!

Right now I'm missing having a big kitchen to cook in.

I'll also miss those family dinners.

But this is what I'm missing most of all - Joshua, 2, and Jacob, 3.

Our Trip East

My husband retired from one nuclear power plant in Arizona and decided to contract at another one in Florida.  Leaving our home and family, we took off cross country in a truck pulling a 5th wheel bound for Juno Beach.
However, we had no idea how grueling it would become.  Hubby and I were sick - I mean sick!  We finally had to layover an extra day in Houston, Texas to see a doctor and try and recover.  Maggie, the travelling dog, was the only one enjoying this trip!

After a good rest, and some wonderful antibiotics, we were on our way again.  I finally had the energy to take a few pictures - out the window of course.
We were behind schedule!

The swamps of Louisiana were fascinating.
I have never driven over so many bridges in one day!

We were so happy when we finally arrived in north Florida!

This is our home away from home for the remainder of the year.
What adventures await us?

Hi, my name is Candy and I'm new to blogging!  A few months ago I never even considered writing a blog despite the urging of my friend Ceekay at ThinkinofHome.  Hopefully, it's not the last time!
