Fun at Walt Disney World!

Last week our daughter, Dawn, son-in-law, Mike, and oldest grandson, Jacob, came for a visit.  We started our vacation at Walt Disney World in Orlando and had a wonderful time.

We moved our 5th wheel from the RV park in Juno Beach to Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground.  It was the nicest campground we've ever been to!

Vehicle traffic is not allowed unless you're entering or leaving the area.  They have free bus transportation around the campground, and to their parks, but we decided to rent a golf cart.  We had some wild rides!

One of the rides Jacob enjoyed the most was the pony rides - riding every pony they had saddled.

We all enjoyed the pool.  Each one of us slid down the fast winding slide many many times.

We also enjoyed the simpler pleasures the campground had to offer.

One of the amenities was free boat rides to the other resorts and, most importantly, the Magic Kingdom.

Jacob always visits his friends whenever he's in town.

But even friends take a backseat to the thrilling rides!

Yes.  He LOVED Space Mountain.

Even good boys need a little "time out."

However, Disney wasn't the only place that got our money.

We had a rousing good time at Medieval Times where we stuffed ourselves with food while watching knights joust.

We finished up the vacation back at Juno Beach.  Now, they've gone back to Phoenix and we're preparing for yet another visitor.  On Saturday, my nephew is coming from Iowa for a week.  What new adventures await him?!

Ceekay Came For a Visit!

The last couple of weeks have been a whirlwind of activity!  My friend Ceekay came from Arizona for a visit so we took advantage of every minute.  Here's just a few photos of just a few of the things we did while she was here.

High on her list of things she wanted to do was walk the beach and find some sea shells.  That called for a road trip to Ft. Myers for the best shelling in Florida!

We stayed at a cute little bed and breakfast right on the beach.......

.........where we enjoyed hunting for shells at sundown.

However, some of the best sea shells are found on nearby Sanibel Island so over the bridge we went.  We enjoyed eating our weight in shrimp, hunting shells, and visiting their museum and historic village.

Then, we spent one whole day at the Edison and Ford Winter Estates where we had a "behind the scenes tour," even exploring the upstairs of these beautiful houses.

We finally had to return to Juno Beach but found even more things to do that kept us busy.  One day we drove up the coast to the town of Stuart where we had lunch at Lady Anne's Tea House.

Ceekay agrees that the food was delicious!

We had so much fun shopping, cruising up the Loxahatchee River, visiting a wildlife sanctuary, and so much more!  I know this is a short post but we're getting ready to move the 5th wheel to Disney World's Fort Wilderness Campground for a while.  Our oldest daughter, son-in-law and grandson are coming a visit now!  If you'd like to see more pictures of our adventures check out Ceekay's blog.  She'll be posting photos soon!
